Review: The Darlings in Love
*sequel to The Darlings Are Forever*
Natalya is afraid she messed things up with Colin for good - until she gets a text from him saying he saw her in the park. After much consideration she responds. The two begin playing chess again. Natalya isn't sure if she's reading too much into his behavior, but she knows her feelings for him haven't changed. Could he be hiding something from her?
Jane's been convinced to act in a student directed performance - that Mark's directing. The subject matter woos her and she starts considering his offer. Her co-star wins her over. Before long, Jane can't wait to run lines with Simon. Could he be her first boyfriend?
Victoria can't believe that she's dating Jack. He's the perfect boyfriend. She loves the time they spend together - just the two of them. However, they hang out with his music friends quite a bit. Soon Victoria's realizing that they don't have anything in common. Can they still make their relationship work?
My Thoughts: I really like the friendship between these three girls. It's strong enough for them to tell the truth about their romantic relationships. It's strong enough to cover for each other when they're sneaking out with their boyfriends. It's strong enough to support each other when boys break their hearts. It's strong enough for them to just have each other. While this book tackles mostly romantic entanglements, I think the real relationship of this book is their friendship. I do hope there's more adventures for the Darlings.
Cover Thoughts: I really liked the cover for the first Darling book. This just seems generic to me. It's cute and all - but kind of boring

Romance is in the Air
Now that February is here - I've decided that the whole month I'll read only Romance books. (except for those I already have for reviews).
Now what do I mean by Romance books - well any book that has a romance in it.
Now what do I mean by Romance books - well any book that has a romance in it.
Does that mean I'll be reading YA romances? Yes
Does that mean I'll be reading cozy mysteries? Yes
I've never read one genre for an entire month before.
Does that mean I'll be reading cozy mysteries? Yes
Does that mean I'll be reading adult romances? Yes - mostly a mix of contemporary and Regency England
Will I be posting these reviews? Yes - so if you're not into romance, you might want to come back in March.I've never read one genre for an entire month before.
I'm looking forward to happily-ever-after endings

Review: Love Story
She works at a coffee shop and lives on peanut butter crackers. While it's not the ideal situation, she's not interested in majoring in business. She wants to be a writer.
Her romance story is the first story discussed in class. She wouldn't be so nervous except the boy she based the hero on just walked into the classroom. There's no way she can watch him read and critique her story.
When another boy tears into her story - saying that Romance isn't a real genre, Erin can't help but fight back. With her life so drastically changed, she just needs one person in her corner.
Could Hunter be that person, even given their past history?
My Thoughts: I love how this is YA book about college - maybe this trend will slowly develop! I LOVED Hunter. I loved how Hunter and Erin spoke to each other through their stories. I loved watching their past unravel and uncovering the details of their relationship. I loved learning more about the horse business. As always, another great love story from Jennifer Echols.
Cover Thoughts: Cute! I love how soft and romantic it looks.

review: A Girl in a Million
Caroline works as a nurse at a children's hospital. On vacation, she does a favor for a co-worker and meets a man she can't get out of her head.
When he appears at the hospital to take care of one her charges, she immediately falls for him.
The family of the little boy offer her a private nurse placement. She readily agrees, knowing she will see Marius. Could a sophisticated doctor really fall for someone like her?
My Thoughts: A cute manga novel with the tagline "Written in flirty pink ink!" This series was one of my first introduction to manga. I love the sweet romance and the illustrations are cute. All in all, a fun quick read. I do wish they made more of this line. Cover Thoughts: Cute! Source: Inter-Library Loaned

Ten Things: YA Romances
This list was too hard to stop at just ten. I gobble up teen romances like candy. They're sweet, addicting, and hard to put down. Here's what made my list:Anna and the French Kiss: Love the Paris setting and lots of angst

Graceling: a cross country adventure with a boy who might be your equal

Mediator series: Loving a boy who's a ghost and who saves you countless times

Boys Next Door: Finding true love with the boys your childhood friends

S.A.S.S. series: traveling to new countries and broadening your horizons while falling in love

Ripped at the Seams: holding on to your designing dream while on your own the city

Year in Europe: One year of traveling separately, three best friends who all fall in love with Europe and fall head over heels in love

Truth about Forever: A healing summer might mean welcoming chaos in your life and throwing caution to the wind.

Waiting for You: Finding the friend you thought you lost forever, in the form of a potential boyfriend

Novel Idea: falling in love over books

Review: Rhymes with Cupid
When a cute boy comes into the shop, she encourages her best friend to flirt with him. Belong long, she realizes that the boy in question is her next door neighbor and he has a crush…on her.
Elyse isn’t interested in him or any boy.
The more she pushes Dina and Patrick together, the more she notices that something isn’t right. Could she be giving love a second chance?
My Thoughts: Rhymes with Cupid is a cute read and perfect for this time of year. I love the banter between Elyse and Patrick. Patrick is always getting things wrong, awkward at talking to girls, smart, and very sweet. Elyse is still overcoming her grief, blunders her way through several situations, but just wants the best for her friend. A sweet read.
Cover Thoughts: Sweet

Review: At First Sight
Sparks fly. They have a moment together before they're whisked away. They didn't even tell each other their names.
Lauren can't get him out of her head. Her best friend does some digging on a social media site and discovers his identity. Plus, he can't get Lauren out his head, either. But the path to true love isn't simple.
When he writes about meeting an amazing girl, his wall on the website explodes with girls claiming to be "the one." Lauren doesn't let that faze her; she writes him a message. He responds and soon they're hanging out online.
He doesn't believe she's one of the posers, but he doesn't believe that she's the one he's searching for, either. How can she get him to figure out the truth?
My Thoughts: Catherine Hapka writes about love at first glance as part of the Simon Pulse Romantic Comedy series. Lauren tackles overcoming her shyness and going after what she wants. Ms. Hapka touches on the different aspects of relationships, including lust and friendship-turned-love, in this engaging installment to the line.
