Mysterious Saturday Review: Golden Malicious

There's a drought going on, which causes Meg and Bree some concern about watering the apple orchard. With no rain in the forecast, they spend the mornings hauling water to the trees.  One afternoon, Meg accompanies Steve to a saw mill.

The day turns sour when Meg discovers a body in the woods.  Uneasy, she shows Seth when he returns. A blow to the head proves to be cause of death. It's not clear whether the death is a result of foul play, but that's not the only discovery Meg makes that day.

When talking to Christopher, she mentions seeing a bug.  The insect proves to be dangerous to trees and could result in serious damage for the town.  Meg and Seth aren't sure what to think of the certain events they stumble upon. But it's enough to disturb their daily routine.
My Thoughts: I really like this series. It's a little different from other cozies, focusing more on life and a little less on murder. Not that murder doesn't play a huge role, but it's feels a little more relaxing. I love learning about the orchard and farming. I find Seth's work interesting - loving the small town charm where everyone knows everyone else. A perfect read for those in the food for murder, romance, and day to day life.

Cover Thoughts: Love it
