Board Books (2)

We just bought a bunch of new board books for our library.

I'll be talking about a few favorites over the next couple weeks/months

This board book showcases different styles of hair for Black children. Lots of hair love that's wonderful for all children to read.

Another great book about hair styles - except this one features photographs of Black children. And this one features a mirror at the end of the book - showcasing the beautiful reader. What a wonderful message.

Lots of knowledge packed into this small book (5 senses, hair, joints, and more). The illustrations are fun and diverse. I like the way this series (Hello World) asks questions and gives knowledge tips in sidebars.

This poor little monkey is grumpy and needs some cheering up. I like how this book explores how things make the monkey feel. Grumpy. Mad. Sad. Not Bad. A good book for talking about emotions.

A great introduction to finding out how you're feeling - taking deep breaths and sharing good energy with others. We could all use this reminder. Cute diverse illustrations accompany the text.

You can show love so many ways and especially towards your family members. This book showcases so many ways to share your love. Of course I loved the one about reading more books. The illustrations are cute and diverse in this oversized board book.

This is a super cute book with great photographs of babies on their tummies. This book folds out* so babies can see other babies on their tummies too. I love the diverse babies and we all know that babies love looking at other babies, so this is great.

* I didn't realize this when I purchased it. It might not hold up too long in the library, but it's a great board book for gifting.

The sun is setting on a summer day and a little Black boy goes home and gets ready for bed. This sweet story showcases Black joy on the perfect summer night with the gorgeous illustrations and family love.

* This book was sent for review.
** This book is from the same team from Curls.
