This week's topic is why I love girls sports books!
I've been reading a lot of great girl sports books lately, but we need more of them!
Here's why I love them:
The talent - the girls aren't afraid of their talent. They know they are good and they are unapologetic about it.
Which means the main character is usually feminist
And they sometimes want to prove themselves (especially if they are playing on a boy's team)
And they have the heart and the desire to kick butt (Both on the sports field and off the field).
The team - usually a group of girls on the team are friends
The comradery during the sporting times (bus rides, practice...)
Obviously for the sports parts. As a sporty girl myself, I love reading about the games/practices. And it almost doesn't even matter which sport.
Romance - there's usually a side romance story
Have you read any great sports books lately that you think I would like?

Love an empowered woman in sports!
I've never read a girls sports book, but now I want to. I had no idea this was even a thing!

Girls in sports are awesome! I have a few recommendations for you! Have you read Throw Like a Girl by Sarah Henning or Girl at Heart by Kelly Oram? Both are good. Also, if you read adult romance, Mariana Zapata has an amazing one called Kulti and another called From Lukov with Love. Oh! And Ginger Scott's A Boy Like You. All of these are about female athletes.
I'm not a sports person, so I tend to avoid the topic even in fiction. However, I like your reasons for loving this genre! Maybe I should give it a try ...
Happy TTT!
Interesting post! I really don't read much of this kind of book, but you make good points, especially about teammates and the friendships therein. I think the last book I read that was focused on any kind of sport was Caela Carter's "Tumbling" (gymnastics), but that was really good.
This is such a great topic! I love watching sports but haven't delved into any sports books yet - now I'm going to have to keep an eye out for them!
