Ritzy carries on like nothing's changed, but someone finds out.My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. My heart broke for Ritzy has her whole life was turned upside down. And then she learned about her past. I enjoyed Kristin and her husband - how they tried to help her. I liked the friendship and the romance. I enjoyed watching Ritzy navigate through a different social world. - that part reminded me of Rory Gilmore. I enjoyed the family dynamics here - because sometimes people do get to chose their families. I really liked seeing a book about foster families - especially in older YA. And of course right before all the really hard decisions about the characters future.
When social services can't get a hold of her mother, Ritzy's placed into foster care. She uncovers the truth about her past - that she's been in the system before. Her former foster mother takes her in.
Kristin seems nice, so does her husband. She's trying really hard. But Ritzy's been taking care of herself for as long as she can remember; she's not used to rules.
How can you plan for the future when everything changes?
Dee thinks her summer will be super boring after her rejection from a summer fine arts program and her BFF attending her own dream program. But then a movie production company comes to town. Before she knows it, Dee is working behind the scenes of a movie - a movie starting a famous pop star.
When she first meets him, she's disappointed. She never really thought they would be best friends, but she expected someone a little...less rude.
The more time she spends on location, the more she realizes that Miles as a LOT of stuff going on and maybe nursing a broken heart. Plus he did laugh at her joke. Could friendship (or something more) be in the works?

Julia's excited to be spending her spring vacation week in London - until she realizes that her friends aren't going and even worse she's partnered with her nemesis for the trip. Jason's just so...goofy, annoying, and smug. Julia can't believe she's stuck with him.My Thoughts: I took this book with me on vacation and devoured it. I felt like Julia was a modern day nonmagical Hermoine Granger. She's always reader, knows everything, and maybe needs to have a little more fun. I like how she tries to break out of her shell during the party - and how the spirals out of control. I love traveling around London with the tour group and with Jason and Julia on their own. I loved the banter between Julia and Jason. I loved getting to know Jason better - between the singing and the graffiti park moments. I liked how Julia had a grand idea of romance after hearing the stories about her parents falling in love. A really fun novel, perfect for a library collection.
The first night, he takes her to a party. She lets loose for the first time. She becomes someone braver, someone interesting, someone who's not a know it all.
Afterwards, the two strike up a bargain. Jason will help Julia text flirt with a boy she met at the party and in turn Julia will write up their assignments.
Julia's vision of this trip changed the minute she was partnered with Jason, but he brings her places she never knew about. Could she be seeing him a whole new light?
Liza needs this trip to go well; the legacy of the band depends upon it. As their drum major, she decides not to tell their band that the future funding for them might be cut. Instead, she locates a potential way to earn the money - a talent show contest on a cruise ship.My Thoughts: I really liked this book. I really like Liza, although I felt bad that she took so much upon herself and refused to share the burden.
Could there be a better way to spend their Spring vacation?
But from the start, nothing goes according to plan. First off, Liza realizes that her band will have to compete with her ex-BFFs singing group. Then there's the fact that she's stuck babysitting the football jock who got himself sent on this trip as punishment. Plus, Liza reunites with her former camp crush during the trip.
The more Liza's plans keep failing, the more tense she gets. Can she let anyone help her or will she single handily destroy the one thing she's desperately trying to save?
Final Thoughts: A fantastic book on how nothing goes the way you planned, but everything has a way of working out.

Sloan Emily Jacob can't deal with her family. She's also not happy to be going to figure skating camp, especially given that she purposely destroyed her career three years ago.My Thoughts: I loved this book - it reminded me of the Parent Trap minus the parental get together. I loved the dual perspective of hockey and figure skating. I love how the Sloans grew as they were trying to impersonate each other. The romance, the competition, and the family drama also added into my enjoyment.
