Picture Book Review: Christmas Book Roundup

I was lucky enough to be sent some Christmas picture books from publishers. I adore Christmas picture books. Instead of talking about them each week for the next month or two, I thought I would do a larger post in case to share gift ideas or for collection development. Or both.

Siblings and their dog count down to Christmas with fun activities to share the holiday cheer. The hidden flaps help count down the days until Christmas. The illustrations are charming and this book shares the joy of the season. Go here if you'd like to see some sample pages.

A mother and daughter enjoy the moments leading up to Christmas. The little girl shares a special wish for the world with Santa - a sweet powerful message that tugged at my heartstrings. The illustrations make me want winter to get here faster!

Do animals celebrate Christmas? If they do, do the celebrate differently than humans? Find out what other animals might do for Christmas. A charming story with sweet illustrations.

This tough cookie ISN'T delicious as the fox found out. If he's not meant to be eaten - what is he meant for? He goes on an adventure to discover the truth and his friends help him along the way. A fun read.

It's Sparkle's first Christmas and Lucy is there to help explain it all to him. But nothing goes the way Lucy plans - not even the exchanging of presents. Could Christmas mean something more? A fun addition to this series.

Little Elliot has lost his Christmas Spirit. When he visits Santa, Santa encourages him to find it. So Mouse and Little Elliot go looking for Christmas cheer. Another wonderful addition to this series. I can't help but love each book just a little bit more. As always, the illustrations are magical and the messages is really sweet.
