Meg Cabot (one of favorite authors ever) has a new book coming out in early September.

Jessica Gold, a plus size heroine, dabbles in magic. But ever since a love spell went too far when she was in high school, she's much more careful about magic. She mostly uses her magic to help others feel good about themselves - particularly in the clothing they buy from her shop. 

No one is more surprised than her when a stranger rides into town claiming she's the Chosen One. 

Only with her help will the town be saved from disaster.

And Jessica's high school nemesis (also a witch) is trying to kill her.

It's an adult book, but there are two fantastic teenage characters.

It's the start of a new series.

It's funny - witty banter. Great friendship. High school nemesis. Mean Girls. Witchy Powers.  It's charming. It's perfection.

The illustrations are delightful! 

It reminded me so much of the Prince and the Dressmaker.

5 Things: A Little Ray of Sunshine

It's no secret that I love books by Kristan Higgins. I've read most of them (Saving two for a feel-good rainy day) and she keeps surprising me in the very best way.

Yes, this is a secret baby trope book.

But it's not your usual trope. Kristan creates a fresh twist on this trope.

There's lots of nerd moments and jokes and banter. 

There are sweet moments between family and some not so sweet moments.

Graphic Novel Review

I've been waiting to read this graphic novel for a while. 

And it did not disappoint. 

It's about a group of kids who meet in the cafeteria for community service hours. 

They are not friends - yet. But as the time goes by, they discover a secret and they come together to help someone else.

But I'm also a fan of Stephanie Burgis who writes some great middle grade reads as well.

It's a way for her to show love.

Now I'm not going to ruin the run here - but keep this one in mind while you read.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did. It gave me ALL The feels.

I really enjoyed this book set in Cape Sanctuary (book 2 in the series).

I loved Jess and how she helped people declutter/downsize/clean the house after the death of a loved one.

I really loved the meet cute between Jess and Nate.

I loved Nate's daughter, the sister relationship healing, and the scenery sounded amazing.
