Picture Book Review: Black Joy

Jaden's neighborhood has a worn down brick wall. Jaden wants to revitalize the wall. He sees love everywhere. Everyone wants to make their mark on the wall.

I love how this book takes art and makes it a community event. I love how this book talks about the different ways to love each other - and especially yourself. The mural looks amazing and full of love. What a great message!

Picture Book Wednesday: You Grow Girl

A punny book - perfect for plant lovers.

I love these types of books. This one is perfect for mothers and daughter or fathers and daughters to pour over together. Plus, this book has gorgeous illustrations.

Highly recommended for your public library's collection

Picture Book Wednesday: Valentine Books (1)

Just a few Valentine books that came into the library last year and this year.

Some of these are about love and friendship - which fit perfectly for this time of year as well.

Who gives the best hug? Could it be an animal?

This is a cute story - with lots of vocabulary, lots of animals, and a very sweet ending.

If you were my Valentine, these are all the things I would do for you and with you.

Charming with lovely illustrations, this board book is very sweet with lots of different animals and their families.

This is a charming and funny book about all different kinds of hugs.

This is a sweet book with illustrations that pop. Lots of love here.

A funny animal parent and child book about love.

Lots of puns and love in this charmingly illustrated board book. Super sweet and one to read again and again.

Galentines are full of love for grandmothers, mothers, aunts, and friends. A celebration of sisterhood.

Nothing cares to love (book's tagline) between a parent and a child. Lots of outside moments and lots of fun here.

Picture Book Wednesday: Valentine's Books (3)

Just a few fun new Valentine books and books about love that have arrived at the library. These books make great gifts!

Valentine:
Only one more night until Valentine's Day. I love how this book shared handmade valentines and spread joy to everyone. Such a kind message to share!

Love:
Puppy needs a hug, but who will hug her?
This is a cute story about different types of animals. The tabs are cute (not sure how they will hold up in the library setting) and they work on different pages.

Not everyone likes hugs and kisses...sometimes ROARS are better! What do you love instead?
Great message here and of course, it's fun to roar.

 Perfect for a storytime sharing!

Cute story about the body, kisses, and love. Perfect for babies.
