Earlier this week, I talked about a book set in Paris and realized it would be a great time to make a booklist.

There are so many more books set in Paris. It's a wonderful place to read about. Here are a few that I chose:

Shop Small: Gifts Ideas (9)

   Since the holidays will be here before you know it, I thought I would share some cute gift ideas.

Instead of shopping online at places like Amazon, why not shop local?

If you have awesome local businesses, grab items from their stores of gift cards.

If you're shopping for people outside our area, why not get something super cute on Etsy?

I'm going to highlight a new suggestion each week.

Top Ten Tuesday: Bookmarks

This week's topic is favorite bookmarks. I have several that I love.  And I lost quite a few during the last two years because Emma got mad and chewed them up. 

Here are five bookmarks that I love. Two are from author friends.

And the pizza one is from a library.

I have lots of food bookmarks from libraries.

My favorite ones of those are the scratch and sniff ones. There's a s'mores one that smells delightful.

But there are really awesome ones on Etsy too. And they make great gifts!

Bookmarks for Guys

I confess that I'm a bookmark addict.

But lately, I've had a question. Where are the bookmarks for guys???

I'm not talking about the bookmarks you can buy at Upstart or somewhere else, but rather the bookmarks from authors and publishers.

I follow a lot of authors of twitter and I see them posting pictures of their bookmarks. Sometimes, I'm lucky and I get a bunch for the library. Mostly of the time, the bookmarks are targeting female readers. They're gorgeous and don't get me wrong, I Love them. I love handing them out to readers and readers love taking them. It sparks up a conversation about books, which is great.

Which got me thinking:
Could it be because I'm following mostly female authors?
Could it be because authors of books geared towards guys purchase other swag?
Could it be that there just aren't many bookmarks targeting male readers?

I'm going to keep my eyes open while at BEA this week to see what I can discover! If you have thoughts, let me know. I'd like to put more bookmarks into the hands of guy readers.
