Color Own World

My Graphic

The real graphic

Do you see the difference?

Mine is Color YOUR World and the real slogan is Color Our World

I confess, I don't remember if I made this choice, or it was just my brain getting the slogan wrong.

HOWEVER

I actually really like it better with Color YOUR World.

To me, YOUR implies that the kids are kids are responsible for creating art in their world, for taking a look at their community, for being a part of something bigger.

With the world being in a tough spot, I think focusing on your town/city is a sweet idea.

And it's nothing against the original slogan. But that's my two cents on changing it and why I'm keeping it

New Paintings

I've had some time on my own and I filled lots of it with painting.

Do you have a favorite?

@yabooknerdlibrarian I had some free time on my hands lately - here are some paintings from this year. Most are paintings but some are bookmarks 🔖 #painttok #paintings #watercolors #landscapes #bookmarks #flowers ♬ Little Happiness - Oneul

Review: Will Work for Prom Dress

Quigley and her BFF Anne have a plan for the prom. They will work any jobs they can find in order to pay for amazing prom dresses. They will eat better and work out to tone up their bodies to show off at the prom. They will find the perfect dates for the prom.

Quigley isn't sure what she's going to do with her life. She's been rejected at her top college choice because her art portfolio lacks focus. She needs to find something to inspire her.

Anne signs them up to be live models for a fashion design course. Everyone except one boy chooses Anne as their model. Only Zander wants to work with Quigley. At first, she's humiliated, but then she gets to know Zander. He could be the perfect date to prom. Could he be interested in her?

My Thoughts: A really cute novel! I'm addicted to prom stories. I loved how these two friends tried to create the perfect prom experience. Anne and Quigley had their friendship issues and parental issues. I really liked Quigley's art incorporated into the story. Art and fashion are becoming more popular in novels and I really like it. Ferris blended these beautifully.

Cover Thoughts: Love it! I love the dress and how it ties into the book. I love the working sign as Anne gets the worst jobs for Quigley.

My Library at Home

This is the bookcase as you walk into the door (if there was a door)

Next you'd see the chair on the far side of the room. It's really cozy, but usually it's the messiest corner of the room

Here's another bookcase. There's one more in the room that's not pictured. Most of them are filled with YA books and mysteries. I have boxes of "scholarly" books in storage. I love having my books surrounding me. And yes, there is mostly an order - by genre. (expect in this picture. I had rearranged the books to take this picture for something - but I'm not sure what)

My tiny Paris door that I Love (and will take with me when I move) is a small storage space

Ever since college, I've found that walls are too plain. So I've created collages (mostly on the ceiling in college, but on the walls here). There are loads of pictures and phrases from magazines, calendars, and cards. It's a mixture of amusing things, cute photos, phrases I love, places I've been, places I want to go, people I admire, or just make me smile. Most of them have a story...there really pieces of me.
