Top Ten Tuesday: Series Books

This week's topic is series books. I love series - but sometimes I get behind and then it's hard to catch up. Here are a few series I'm behind on but still really want to read.

Catch up on:
This is book 11 in a Key West food critic series that's really fun!
There are currently 12 books in the series.

The is a cozy series set in Maine - this is book 7. There are 10 books out currently.

This is book 13 of a bakery shop cozy series. The series is up to 16 books now.

The 3rd book in the bromance book club - there are 5 total.

I read the first book, but there are 4 more to go.

Again, I read the first one, but there are 7.

I've been reading these as the seasons come out. I read 3 books, but there are 19 all together.

I'm very far behind on this historical romance series - this is book 4 and there are 12. I better get reading!

Series I want to read:

Have you read any of these? Which should I start with?

Review: The Vibrant Years

Three generations of women:

Bindu inherits money - but she doesn't want it. It's a reminder of the past, which she would like to keep buried. She puts the money to good use, buying a condo in a retirement community. But not everyone there is friendly.

Bindu's daughter-in-law Aly has been promised her own TV segment -eventually. She's tired of waiting, but she's certain this scoop with earn her position. But the network wants to give it to someone else.

Aly's daughter Cullie has a brilliant mind for coding. She created an app that made her a super star in the tech world. But years later the app is losing money and Cullie needs to come up with a way to save it. One way is to create another app - if only she had an idea.

These three women will laugh together, cry together, and share their secrets.

My Thoughts: This is a powerful read of three women who trust each other, who fight for what they want, and refuse to let others put them in a box. They support each other through all the ups and downs. I loved the fierce love between them and how they help each other. I love how Bindu and Aly try dating for Cullie's app project - the dates are terrible, but hilarious. This is an inspiring read - I love how the women refused to be intimated or dismissed. I love how they refused to put themselves in a box or dull their shine. I loved the characters.  The story did leave a few questions unanswered. As the first book in Mindy's Book Studio line, I can't wait to see what's next!

Cover Thoughts: I like it! It's bright and vibrant.

Review: Her Perfect Life

Lily Atwood is a super star - everyone knows her. Well, everyone thinks they know her. But they don't. They don't know why she's afraid every day - for herself and her daughter. They only see the persona her team created for her - her TV Reporter persona. To them she's not a real person, she's perfect.

Perfect is hard to live up to. Especially when you have a big secret.

Lily's sister disappeared when she was a girl. Now, her anonymous source has information about her disappearance. Could Cassie still be alive?

Could the walls of perfect be crumbling down?
My Thoughts: I read this one on the plane - and it had me turning the pages quickly. I really enjoyed this thriller - even if I didn't like the characters. Perfect is overrated and not achievable. I felt badly for Lily - that she wasn't allowed to be a person. My heart broke for all the characters and their struggles. Lots of plot twists, secrets unraveled, and action kept be on the edge of my seat.

Cover Thoughts: Great

Picture Book Wednesday: Hattie Harmony Worry Detective

Harmony's starting school with her friends and some of them are a little bit nervous. Luckily, she's there to help them. And they are there to help her.

This is a sweet story with a great message. There's a worry refrain for all the problems:
"Worry Worry go away! There's no time for your today!"
I loved how Harmony both helped people and received help from her friends. Everyone needs help sometimes and everyone gets nervous or scared. I love how they solved the problems together. At the back of the book, there's an author's note that talks about tools used in this book.

Library Recommendation: A must have book for your school and public libraries.

Top Ten Tuesday: Mood Shift

I'm changing the topic for this week to fit my mood shift. Since it's November first, I've shifted to Christmas mode. I'm ready for Christmas and Holiday Romances - come back later in the week for that post. And I'm ready for Hallmark Christmas movies. My DVR is starting to fill up.

Since I had so much fun making the fall favorite words and spooky Halloween words, I thought I'd share a Cozy Winter Words post. These give me the warm and fuzzies!
