Summer Reading Check In

Now that summer is in full swing - how is everyone doing?

For me, I'm at a new library this summer, so I'm mostly watching and seeing how things go. The kids are having fun and that makes me thrilled.

I am thinking of ways to make things smoother and change up ideas for the older kids. I'm excited about next year's theme and have already started a Pinterest board with lots of ideas.  I think I'm most excited for the idea of weekly building challenges.

I hope all the public librarians have a fantastic summer filled with readers loving their books, enjoying the programs, and having the best time EVER!

And I hope all the school librarians have a relaxing summer and read some great books.

Summer Reading Program Ideas

I'm getting excited about this year's theme. Part of it has to do with life size games that I want to attempt as programs. I hosted a live action angry bird game a few years back at the library, and it went over Really well. So, here's hoping for a great summer.  - as usual, these ideas came from Pinterest.
