Review: The Diva Cooks up a Storm

* Book 11 in the Domestic Diva series *

Before a social event, one of Sophie's acquaintances reveals he thinks he's being poisoned. He asked her advice. At a pop-up gourmet party, Sophie witnesses the same friend in a series of awkward social interactions. When he turns up dead later that night, Sophie knows something fishy is happening. Everyone's pointing the finger at someone else, but someone's lying. Can Sophie uncover the truth?

My Thoughts: I'm so glad this series is back; I've missed it. I loved reading my old friends and seeing what they were up to again. As usual, I enjoyed the moments between Sophie and Natasha. I felt terrible for Hollis's family and what all of them went through.  I loved the aftermath of the storm and how everyone came together to eat. I love the bit in the library and the romance. I liked trying to unravel all the secrets and lies told in this one, the ending kept me guessing. So looking forward to the next book in this fun series!

Mysterious Saturday Review: Recipe for Treason

 * 3rd book in the series*

Lady Arianna Hadley and her husband, the Earl of Saybrook travel to Scotland in the cold. Neither of the want to go, but they've received orders from Grentham. Duty to the Crown comes before anything else. 

On the way there, a group ambushes the coach. Arianna, Saybrook, and Henning (their Scottish doctor ally) walk away, but not without suspicion. There appears to be a leak in the office. They're looking for a clue related to chemistry and a weapon.


It's rumored that Napoleon's determined to escape Elba and return to power - with the help of his elusive spy The Renard. They learn all they can from Scotland and rush back to London. There they must dangle through society, searching for clues to uncover the spies and make sure a powerful weapon doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

My Thoughts: I love this series - for the Regency Era, the unconventional romance, the tidbits on chocolate and baked goods, and the many disguises of Lady Arianna Hadley. Arianna's a master of disguises and her ability to transform always impresses me. I like her fierce ways that are so out of character with society. I love learning more about her background and how she survived her childhood. I like her banter with Saybrook. A delicious addition to the series!

Mysterious Saturday Review: Farm Fresh Murder

Becca's twin sister calls her own morning and begs her to come to work on her day off. Leaving her jam on the stove, Becca rushes over. She realizes someone's been murdered at the farm market.

Straight away, her friend becomes the main suspect. Almost immediately, he goes into hiding after talking with the police. Becca wants to talk with him - to help him clear his name. She hitches a ride to his house to search for clues to his disappearance, where she finds the murder weapon just as the police arrive.

Becca digs a little deeper into the death, discovering more stone walls than she imagines. People don't like her poking her nose into their business. For the most part, people keep to themselves at the market. But Becca's determined to uncover the truth. Will she uncover something more sinister than she ever imagined?

My Thoughts: The first in a new series complete with recipes! This series boats a fresh setting for a fun mystery - with a little romance, a lot of suspects, and plenty of secrets.
