Top Ten Tuesday: Series

This week's topic is all about Series we didn't want to end. I am such a series reader, I adore them. There are several I didn't want to end.

Some of these have so many books, but I would always read more:

I just miss everyone

I want the step-sisters' stories

I need so many more of these - also what is Hale's name! We need to know.

I want this series to continue through high school

I need to find out more about young Dinah (and her mom).
Actually - most of the DC origin stories could use more stories.

There's so much more to this story!

I need more about the twins! And maybe it's coming? Goodreads says #1, but there is no info for #2

Hopefully there's a winter book coming or maybe Spring. Doesn't matter, I just want more of this blended family on a farm.

I love this family - I need more stories about them.

I'd be happy reading more about the characters in this one. Loved it!

And you? Which books need to be in a series or more books written in that series????

Graphic Novel Review: Twins

Maureen and Francine are best friends - and twins. They do everything together. But when they start middle school, Francine starts pulling away. She doesn't want to be seen as twins; she wants to be her own individual. She starts going by Fran. Fran joins clubs and makes new friends. She also doesn't want to dress the same anymore. And she's going to run for Class President.

Maureen's having a hard time adjusting to middle school. She's not in the same classes as her sister. It's stressing her out. Maureen's in Cadet Corps instead of gym. While she's used to being at the top of her class, she's not in tuned with the cadet drills. Her teacher suggests she try out for a leadership position and run for office for extra credit. After a major fight with her sister, Maureen signs up to run for Class President.

Now the twins are running against each other. Their parents want to support both of them and make sure they're running clean campaigns. But what happens when you know your opponent's secrets?
My Thoughts: I loved this graphic novel! I felt bad for both girls. Maureen didn't want anything to change and had a hard time with learning her twin did. Fran wanted to become her own person and not be in Maureen's shadow. While both of them hurt each other, I'm glad how things turned out. Confidence played a huge part of this book - and it's really hard to be confident in middle school when you're still learning and everything is changing so quickly. Both girls had great ideas on how to make their mark on the school and to make the school a better place. I loved the art work - the colors were bright and fun. I can't wait to read the next book to see what happens next!

Cover Thoughts: Fierce!

Review: Parker Inheritance

The Parker Inheritance
Candice isn't thrilled that she and her mom moved for the summer. Things change when she finds a letter to her from her grandmother hidden in the attic - in an old puzzle book.  The letter talks about a treasure hidden in town and it's part of the reason her grandmother was fired and moved away in disgrace.

With the help of her new friend, Candice starts investigating the town, it's people, and the link to the treasure. Could she be the one to uncover the treasure? Is there really a treasure?
My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. I loved Candice and Brandon's friendship - how easy it came to them and then how they worked at it. I loved the scavenger hunt about the town. I liked learning about the town's history - even though it was heart-wrenching from discrimination to police behaving badly to horrific events. I really liked Siobhan's story; I wanted to read more about her. I loved how the two kids dug into research from family and town history, local museums, and the library. While at the core of this book lies a treasure hunt, it's about SO much more. This book spoke volumes about race relationships, bullying, kindness, family, and friendship.

Cover Thoughts: Cute, I love the two halves of the cover, it really reflects the book's two stories.

Tween Tuesday Review: Great Greene Heist

Jackson Greene is out of the con game after the last one list him a good friend and his crush.  The same girl's running for class president and the worst guy in school announces he's running against her.

Jackson knows that he can't let Keith win. Even though Gabby isn't talking to him; he has a plan.  It's ambitious and most likely it will never work. But if you're going down, it might as well be in flames.
My Thoughts: I read this book ages ago and loved it.
1. I'm a sucker for heists (books/movies)
2. All the plans (I never saw them coming)
3. Middle School  = horrible times
4. Entitlement kids got what they deserved
5. Lots of misunderstandings from the previous heist (added drama)
6. Best intentions
7. Choosing Sides
8. School Clubs (I wish I went to a school where the clubs had access to that kind of resources)
9. Power
10. Understanding people (back to the plans upon plans)

Cover Thoughts: Great
