Graphic Novel Review: Pumpkinheads

Pumpkinheads

Since their freshman year of high school, Deja and Josiah spend their fall (September 1st thru Halloween) working together at the pumpkin Patch. Together they oversee the Succotash Hut.  Each year, for two months they're best friends. After Halloween, they go their separate ways.

But now it's Halloween night, their senior year. It's their last night together. Deja has a plan for them to have an adventure. She wants to try all the snacks. She wants Josiah to talk with the girl he's been crushing over for three years. She wants them to have a night to remember.

My Thoughts: I really loved this graphic novel. I loved the story. I loved the art. I loved that the events took place in just one night. I loved spending time in the pumpkin patch - it made me want to visit. It's a sweet story about friendship, romance, making every moment count, not having regrets, and taking chances.

It's also the perfect book to read over Halloween!
I would love to see this team pair up again - maybe for a Christmas/Winter story.

Library Recommendation: A must have graphic novel for your school and public libraries.

Holiday Thursday Review: My True Love Gave to Me

I usually don't read short story collections but I make an exception for Christmas ones. I loved these. With so many great author contributors - how could I not?

My favorites (and it is hard to pick) were from Ally Carter and Stephanie Perkins. I want a book from their stories. I also really loved Rainbow Rowell's story too.
There's something for everyone here: fun, friendship, family, romance, and of course holiday spirit.

If you haven't read it, snatch this one up.

What's on My Hold's List (62)

My Librarian friend Jess from I Read to Relax came up with a great idea.  It's to highlight the books we read from the library. These are some of the books that are on hold  for me at the library.

Secret Pizza Party: Loved Dragons Love Tacos, happy for a new book and who doesn't love pizza?

Lost in London: Looks super cute, plus love books in England

Eleanor and Park: I haven't read this because I don't want to have all the feels, but I think it might be time. I really want to read Fangirl, but I have to read this first!
