Book Tok: Bring It On

I loved Bring It On - so I was super excited to see there was a book coming out about it. I don't read many nonfiction books for adults, but there was no way I was not reading this one.

And it was good!

@yabooknerdlibrarian #stitch with @laurasu90 Bring It On! The history of how the movie was made and its legacy - really fun read. Now I need to go watch the movie! Toothbrushing scene anyone? #bringiton #cheerleading #cheerocracy #booktok #movie #books #toros #clovers #sportsmovie ♬ original sound - Jennifer @YA Book Nerd 📚📚📚

And now I want books about Clueless and 10 Things I Hate About You and What a Girl Wants and The Cutting Edge...

Picture Book Wednesday: Little Black Lives Matter

Yes, it's Black History Month.
And yes, it's important to read Black history titles during this period - but it's also important to read them all year long,

Here's a new one that just came into the library:

The news is terrible - but history shows that people can change the world. This book takes a look at Black people who have changed the world and encourages Black children to be brave and lead an amazing life.

A sweet story with a great message and gorgeous illustrations. This is a fantastic book to share for older kids and maybe do a little research into the lives mentioned.

I adore Jill Shalvis's books. I read this one on my day off and it was fantastic.
