Take Your Child to the Library Day

Today all around the world, people are celebrating libraries.
Special programs and events are happening just for children.

Libraries are showing off their programs, their books, and all that they do.

Take advantage of it!

Libraries are SO much more than books.

You can check movies, video games, board games, cake pans, museum passes, and so much more.

Check with your local library to see what they're offering.

If you don't have a library card, it's easy to sign up for one.
And it really helps with library statistics - which is how we get funding. Every little bit helps.

So head out today to support your local library.

Take Your Child to the Library Day

Yesterday was the 6th annual national Take Your Child to the Library Day. Each year people are throwing bigger and bigger events and getting tons of people coming to the library.

This year, we had a wolf themed event - mostly because it coincided with the wolf track events which we were already planning. The wolf tracks have facts about wolves and then lead to a display on wolf books.

We purchased some fun new books for the event.

Around the room at all the tables, we had wolf stations with crafts:

We had a little library play station

We had a how to draw a wolf cub station for older kids

This one is my favorite - a Wolf Crime Scene where you fill out paperwork on the wolf, creating a story along the way

A arctic wolf craft

Coloring Sheets - All Wolves of course

A wolf mask

The only thing we didn't have was a wolf at the library. Oh, well there's always next year!

Take Your Child to the Library Day

Today is the 6th annual Take Your Child to the Library Day. It's worldwide event and I hope that you do stop in the library. All across the globe, libraries are hosting activities and special events, crafts, giveaways, and more. It's perfect for everyone, whether you're a regular library user or not.
Here are 10 Reasons to go to the library (for any age)
1. All the books
2. Events: so many programs happen at libraries from chocolate making to author events to story times to movies.
3. Reading helps everyone grow
4. Escape the world around you - with books
5. Movies/Audio books
6. Socializing: libraries aren't silent places anymore. Lots of people meet up at the library to play or just to chat.
7. Your friendly librarians love it when you stop and say hello
8. Talking about books
9. It's a safe place where everyone is welcome.
10. Did I mention those books?

When was the last time your visited your library?
