Review: Raven Heir

Cordelia and her siblings live deep in the woods, where no one can find them. There, they hone their magical skills and enjoy life. Until one day, strangers find their house. These strangers believe that one of the triplets is the heir to the throne. 

But no one wants the heir to sit on the throne. They simply want to control the throne. This bloody family war has been going on for decades.  When the army finally breaches the house, Cordelia's mother tells her and her triplet siblings to run.

They do. But they don't know where they are going or who to trust. Now Cordelia is hearing voices and seeing things - things that her magical didn't allow her to see previously. She knows something isn't right and she determined to bring her family back together - but she will have to make a sacrifice...

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book - but that's no surprise since I'm a huge fan of the author's books. I really loved the siblings and their relationship. I enjoyed Giles and his songs. I really loved Rosalind and her fierceness and how she protected her family (even when they underestimated her.) I enjoyed the banter between the siblings. I loved how Cordelia can turn into various animals. I enjoyed their moments of survival in the forest and their interactions with people - even when it didn't go so well. So many secrets! I'm really looking forward to the next book to see how things turn out.

Mini Review: Royal Wedding

 * Book 11 in the Princess Diaries series *

Five years after her college graduation, Mia's still living in New York City. She's helping to run a teen homework center. Of course she still together with Michael.

Things between them are fantastic - so fantastic since he popped the question. Unfortunately, Grandmere leaked the information to the press to cover up a royal scandal. Neither Mia nor Michael were able to tell their friends and family the good news.

Now Mia's about to meet a sister she never knew existed. Mia's thrilled at the idea of having a sister. She agrees to keep her father's secret. But then she decides to take matters into her own hands. 

The Good:
* I loved seeing all of the old characters and what they're up to these past few years (even JP)
* I love seeing more of Olivia and the story from Mia's perspective
* I loved Mia and Michael together
* I loved Grandmere and her wild ideas - they always make me laugh
* I loved getting to know Mia's dad more
* I enjoyed reading about the details of wedding and how it all came together
* It was funny and sweet and heartfelt


The Bad:
None - except I hope this isn't the last we see of Mia

Final Thoughts: I had a book hangover after reading this - utter perfection!

Review: Princess for Hire

Desi hates her current job, especially when her ex-best friend stops by with the boy she's liked forever and humiliates her. She breaks down in the break room after the experience. Her boss invites her to make a wish with his lucky blue fish. Desi wishes to make a difference. She drags herself home that night and into a bubble bath where she reads the wanted ads looking for another job.

She spots a unique ad - that sparkles. As she's reading it, one bubble grows larger and larger until a woman steps out of it. Desi appears to have magical abilities and she might be of service to Princesses around the world.

With a touch of rouge (blush) she looks just like the princesses she's impersonating - princesses who need a little time off. No one knows Desi isn't the real deal. Her first assignment comes quickly to a mousy princess. Desi steps in and makes some decisions that could change both their lives. In making key choices does she over step her bounds? Will her unique way in helping her charges become the new thing or strikes against her?

My Thoughts: The first book in a new series - sweet, fun and entertaining. As a character - Desi grows with each new task set before her. I fully admit that I LOVE princess books - so I was super excited to read this one and I wasn't disappointed - Very much looking forward to the next books in the series.

The Cover: Reading the book makes me understand it better, but I have to admit I don't love it.
