Summer Reading Kids (2): Color Your World

Last week, I shared rainbow craft ideas.

Today, I'm sharing a mix of program ideas - all from Pinterest

STEAM:

Dominos - how big can you make this?
Can it go all the way through the library?

Paper Sculpture - ok this says Christmas tree, but if you use different colors, it can become anything!

Reading Challenge:

Craft:
Ocean Scene

Change this from Autumn to summer and it works!

All the Circles

Balloons

Paint Night for Kids
We do this for adults and teens at the library. I think I might try one for kids.
This is an easy one to do...

Come back next week for more summer reading program ideas...

Summer Reading Kids (1) Color Your World

I'm starting gather up all the Summer Reading Program ideas.

At my library, this year, we're using the Color Your World Art theme.

One of the first things this theme screamed to me was RAINBOW CRAFTS.
So, here are some rainbow crafts ideas from Pinterest:

For these projects, I would have the kids cut/rip/fold/curl the paper so the craft is a little more elevated than just gluing. But obviously have some ready to go for the really little kids.

Come back next week for more craft ideas!

Summer Reading Kids: All Together Now (1)

In my library, we like this theme the most. Although it is close to Build a Better World, the theme from a few years ago.

We're getting close to locking down all the programs, but here are some great ideas from Pinterest all about Friendship:

Blast from the past:

There are a ton of bracelet ideas - you could choose a new one each week.
