Teen Summer Reading Program (4): We Are Stronger Together

Here is the final week of the summer reading program posts.

I talked about craft ideas for the week 1 and week 2. I talked about food programs for week 3.

And this week I'm talking about book ideas.

It's harder to buy books for this theme for teens. There are a lot more books for kids around kindness, community, and friendship...

There are a lot of older YA titles about friendship but I'm looking for new titles to add to the collection.

What else could you add to this list?

Teen Summer Reading Program (3)

The past two weeks we talked about craft programs:

This week we're talking about food programs.

This is how we do them at my library- they are for both kids and teens.

And yes, we are still doing them virtual because it's easier and we connect with more people this way.

Themed Ideas:

Lawn Mowing (A Good deed)
I would use twizzlers instead of straws...

Teen Summer Reading Program (2): We are Stronger Together

Last week I shared some Teen craft ideas that could be used for a Friendship theme.
If you missed it, check it out

Here are more craft ideas.

Yes, you can make these with kids - but the teens can make more elaborate ones.

You can leave them in books around the library or they can keep them
You can write a sweet message inside
These are posted for Valentine's Day, but they can be used anytime. Teens could make these more elaborate also.

Come back next week for some food program ideas!

Teen Summer Reading Program (1): We are Stronger Together

I rarely follow the summer theme for teens - there are times when it works out nicely and times when it doesn't. The teens in my community don't seem to care if the programs are based on a theme. They just want to have fun.

These could be Friendship - as in make them and gift them to a friend/neighbor...

Could be virtual or in person.
We do a virtual one every four months at my library for teens and adults.

You can make keychains or jewelry...
You can draw, you can use stramps, you can trace
the sky is the limit here.

Come back next week for more craft ideas!
