Review: Truly Madly Famously

Paige is slowly getting used to fame from her new status as a movie star, but press tours are exhausting. Being half of a famous couple is even more taxing. She needs a break.

One night in a club, she and Rainer have a fight. He leaves but she decides to stay and have more fun. She drinks to much and calls a friend for a ride.

It seems logical, but the friend she called is her other co-star Jordan. She was forced to make a choice between the two boys and she did. But feelings still linger.

Now there are pictures circulating of Jordan and Paige leaving the club together. The pictures make it look like something more.

Now her relationship with Rainer is history - and her career might be too.

My Thoughts: I've noticed a small trend about Hollywood lately in YA books - and I'm really loving it. I tore through this sequel loving the insider information about Hollywood. I liked watching Paige deal with the press. She made poor choices and they blew up in her face, but I liked watching her handle the pressure. I liked seeing Paige fight for roles that she believes in

I liked Alexis - she was smart and knew how to play the game. I love how she shares her secret in a very powerful way. She takes control over her own life and inspires others to do the same. 

I didn't like the drama with Paige and Cassandra, but I loved their time together at her sister's wedding. I liked watching more of Paige and her family interact, especially with her parents. 

Clearly this book still have the love triangle between the three main character - but it works in very best possible way. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Hey guys! Rebecca Serle here, author of the upcoming series FAMOUS IN LOVE. It’s a novel where fiction meets reality When Paige Townsen, a totally normal girl-next-door, is plucked from obscurity to star in the next major film franchise based on a book. When she relocates from her hometown of Portland to Maui (as in, Hawaii!) to film the movie, she falls for the two lead actors she meets on set: Rainer Devon, and Jordan Wilder

       Would you ever want to star in a movie?

I don’t think so, no. I’m much better behind the scenes. Public speaking makes me incredibly nervous. I don’t think I’d last five minutes on a set.

       What book did you base the movie off from? (I love that the blockbuster movie is based off a book)

The movie is based off a novel Locked by Parker Witter. You can read that novel. It’s available online everywhere.

       Do you have a favorite book to movie adaptation?

Yep—Harry Potter. That’s not to say I don’t love others. Twilight, The Huger Games, Divergent—I’m fans of them all. But I grew up with Harry Potter and those adaptations were nothing short of magic. Being a part of the Harry Potter generation is something I will treasure forever.

       Do have a favorite movie love triangle? And literary love triangle?

My favorite current love triangle is probably Damon-Stefan-Elena on The Vampire Diaries. The love triangles I love the most are the ones where the boys have a lot of love for one another. Damon and Stefan are brothers. They’re probably my favorite pairing. Defan for the win!

Literary love triangles—hmm. Clary-Jace-Simon I think. I am a huge TM fan.

       If you were going to a Hollywood Premiere - what dress would you wear?

Something red by Prada because red is my favorite color and Prada is my favorite designer.

BEA Photos (recap 3)

This year, I wanted to take more pictures than the previous year. I think I succeeded....These aren't all the authors I met, but it gives you an idea.

Here is Mary Jane Clark - author of the Piper Donovan mystery series, which I love. This is my second time meeting her. 

I walked by at the right moment and caught this photo of Neil Patrick Harris - he was signing chapter samplers of his upcoming chose your own adventure biography. 

Shannon Hale signing Princess Black, which looks super cute.

The fabulous Melissa de la Cruz. I've met her before at BEA and she's so nice. She's also great about supporting libraries. Excited about the adult spin-off of Blue Bloods.

Jane Lynch signing flats - I didn't know she was going to be there. I just walked into the booth and there she was, so I took a photo.

Jane O'Connor signing the newest Fancy Nancy chapter book. I love Nancy.

RL Stine signing his new Fear Street Book - Party Games. I was sent a copy pf this earlier, so I didn't wait in line, which was really long. I'm glad there are more Fear Street books coming out. Loved them as a teen reader. 

Peter Lerangis signing the third book in the Seven Wonders of the World series. He was super nice. I've been trying to meet him for ages. Every time he comes to the local indie bookstore, the timing is horrible for me. But I met him here! 

Rebecca Serle signing Famous in Love, which I read earlier from an ARC. I stood in line  because I wanted to tell her how much I loved it. I was the first person to read it outside her family/publishing world. I loved it for the bookish aspect of the book (among other things)

Sarah J Maas signing Heir of Fire - I stood in this line for just over 2 hours. Yes, I NEEDED this book. I can't wait to read it, but I need to set aside some time because I know I won't want to be bothered. As you can imagine the line was insane, but she was super sweet and signed SO many books.

Jan Brett signing Animals' Santa, which I read and it was really sweet.  While standing in line, they handed out bags from the book.

E. Lockhart signing We Are Liars (which I still need to read) - I wasn't in line, because the line was HUGE, but snuck in a photo.

Heather Demetrios - I loved Something Real and so looking forward to her new series (although EXQUISITE CAPTIVE is very different - but looks great too)

On the last day, the last stop was the Sourcebooks Booth where I met the lovely Miranda Kenneally. She signed copies of Breathe, Annie, Breath

My VOYA quote is on the back of her book! Which I read on the train ride home and loved (as usual)

Upcoming Book Review: Famous in Love

Paige loves acting. When auditions are being held for her BFFs favorite book series about to turn blockbuster movie, she decides to go for it.

She's blown away that she wins the role of the lead actress. Paige has no idea how much her life is about to change. She flies to Hawaii for filming.

Her hard work isn't paying off. The Director's unhappy with her performances and yells at her most of the time. The more she tires, the harder she fails.

Plus as Paige starts getting to know her co-stars, she realizes there's clearly a past between them. Rainer's been trying to smooth things over with the director for her. When Jordan arrives on set, Paige realizes she acts better opposite him. How will she choose between them when they both help her?

My Thoughts: I can't imagine having the whole world watching your acting debut, catching you in moments where you have to explain what really happened to your friends and family, or trying to figure out who you love while the world weighs in. Paige seems to handle all this pretty well - aside from a few mistakes. She's strong and feisty. I love the book turned blockbuster movie and I liked learning more about the movie business. The love triangle was interesting - I know that many readers seem to be over the triangle, but if it's done right (and in this case, it is) than it works for the story. A fantastic fun book that I devoured on the train and almost panicked when I thought I might not have time to finish it.
