Children's Review: Ivy and Bearlock Holmes

Ivy and Bearlock Holmes are excited about witnessing an agave flower. It only blooms every 100 years. But as they gather to see it, everyone's disappointed. The flower's been stolen! Ivy and Bearlock are on the case - will they find the flower in time?

My Thoughts: This was really cute - an interactive. The readers can solve puzzles and "help out" along the way. The illustrations are super charming. This is a book that readers can pour over.

Picture Book Review: Hey Bruce!

Poor Bruce is napping but the mice want him to be in their book. What's a grumpy bear to do? Poor Bruce!

This is a funny interactive story that will delight readers of all ages.

Library Recommendation: This is a must have picture book for your collection!  Bruce is a favorite of mine. I can't wait to read this in storytime.

Book Prevewied: Bigfoot Seek and Find

There's a four book seek and find challenge series coming out this year about Bigfoot. Two will be out in the Spring: Bigfoot Visits the Big Cities of the World and Bigfoot Goes on Vacation. Two more will join those in the fall: Bigfoot Goes Back in Time and Bigfoot Spotted at World Famous Landmarks.

I was sent a sample of these books and they are really fun. Seek and Find books go out really well at my library. I imagine that the appeal of Bigfoot will make these books popular.

They have the usually two page spread where you look for Bigfoot and other items. Each book will have 10 spreads with more than 500 items to find.

But what's unusual are the pages afterwards talking about the cities in Bigfoot Visits the Big Cities of the World. The page here talks about Paris detailing famous landmarks, fun facts about the city, and more.
