Books I'm Dying to Read: November Edition

After all the books coming out in October, I know I won't be caught up. Still there are a few I can't wait to read this month too.

 

 Never Judge a Lady By Her Cover: LOVE this series! Can't wait for Chase's story. Plus the cover is amazing.
The Job: Fun, flirty series with lots of action and great cons

Captive: I really loved the first book in the series, can't wait to see what happens next.
Killer Instincts: Second book in the series - Cassie profiles for the FBI - supposedly cold cases, but a new serial killer hits the streets with a familiar MO and the teens get pulled in.

Map to Everywhere: Pirates - Wizards -Adventure
Everblaze: 3rd book in this amazing series where Sophie fights back with possible deadly consequences.

Walled City: There are three rules in the Walled City: Run fast. Trust no one. Always carry your knife.
Name of the Blade: Ancient gods in modern day London and one girl awakens them.
Mortal Heart: LOVED this book (review coming soon).

On Borrowed Time: Adore this mystery series set in a small town with a library focus -a holiday story about the heroine's missing brother.
By Cook or by Crook: First in a new series where Val's life changes drastically. Now she might have more time for all those things she thought about doing, like writing a cookbook - until a murder happens in town.

Taste of Home - Ultimate Comfort Food: I love these cookbooks - so looking forward to winter of experimenting with new dishes.

Naturals: A stand-alone from Jennifer Lynn Barnes.

 

This Wicked Game: Voodoo and secrets

Pawn: New series where one girl must learn to become more than just a pawn in a terrible game

Fiery Heart: Love this series and that ending from the last book makes me want this one ASAP

 

No Good Duke Goes Unpunished: Love this series and excited for Temple's story.

Read It and Weep: Great cozy series...with a librarian solving mysteries.

Takedown Twenty: Love these book - lots of danger, action, and laughter.

Secret Agent Josephine in Paris: Love spy books and this one looks cute.

Red Knit Cap Girl to the Rescue: Loved the first book, looking forward to more adventures.

What's on My Hold's List (60)

My Librarian friend Jess from I Read to Relax came up with a great idea.  It's to highlight the books we read from the library. These are all books that are on hold for me at the library.

Lost in London: I love books set in England and this tween title looks super cute!

Rebel Spring: I really enjoyed Falling Kingdom and can't wait to read more - especially after all those plot twists.

Pawn: I've seen this talked about at various webinars and it looks really good!

Book of the Month: Goddess Test

You can check out my review here. It's not a book I rushed through because I needed time to let the beauty seep in and to think it through, but it's one that stood with me long after I closed the book. I'm super excited for the next book, which has a GREAT cover!

Review: Goddess Test

Kate and her sick mother move halfway around the country on Kate’s eighteenth birthday to fulfill her mother’s wish. She wants to move back to her childhood home. On top of her mother’s declining health, Kate now must also deal with a new school, finding new friends, and figuring out what to do after her mom dies.

Kate gets invited to a party. She doesn’t want to go, but she goes to appease her mother. Only the party turns out to be a prank – a deadly prank.

Kate meets Henry right after the accident. Henry makes her a deal – he’ll bring back Ava from the dead if Kate agrees to become a form of Persephone. Kate agrees to anything if it will just bring Ava back to life.

Now, she’s stuck in a bargain where she must live in a mansion for six months out of the year. She must pass seven tests in order to remain in the mansion – among the living. Meanwhile, Henry will do his best to help her and also keep her mother alive until the end of six months.

No other girl has passed the tests in centuries. Kate has no idea what’s she’s getting herself into. The more time she spends with Henry, the more she grows attracted to him. Can she break through his barriers and capture his heart?

My Thoughts: The first in a trilogy leaves the reader breathless – a beautifully haunting novel. Kate worries about everyone around her that she doesn’t realize how different her life will become. Readers watch her new life unfold as she struggles with loneliness, her frustration, her growing feelings for Henry, and her fears at failing the tests.

Cover Thoughts: I love the greenery and the old fashioned dress.
