This week I'm looking at why I like the fall. I love Autumn - it's my second favorite season. I love the first fall of snow and the time leading up to Christmas. So I created a seasonal board with some favorite words and feelings.
Florrie Fox is stunned when her friend and a member of her bookstore's coloring club comes into the bookstore with a rare and quite valuable coloring book. She has Florrie take a look to see if it could be the real deal. Dolly's excited to sell the coloring book for herself and her daughter. Maybe this could change their lives and at the same time, bring her daughter back closer to her.That night, Florrie finds Dolly dead in her apartment - murdered. The police don't seem interested in the coloring book, but Florrie knows it's the best motive for murder. She pokes around, looking for clues, talking to Dolly's daughter, and trying to work out what really happened that night.

She's impressed by the family home - but not by all the family. Her aunt seems to be a very cold fish and not interested in Eliza at all. Jules is still struggling with the renovations for her new addition to the bakery when she witnesses two girls discover an old skull at the lake. This discovery opens a cold missing persons case form the 1960s. The case has connection with several older folks in town - one of which is murdered.My Thoughts: Another enjoyable read in this mouth-watering series. I loved learning more about the renovation, the town's history, and plans for the future. I'm so curious as to what comes next for Jules and her family. There were some very sweet moments in this book - with Jules and the Professor. I liked the additions to the Torte team. So looking forward to the next book in the series!
Now Jules can't rest until she helps uncover the truth. The town's gossiping about the victim's plot of land and which group he was going to sell it too. With multiple groups wanting the land, the suspect pool is large. Can Jules help the town once again?
* Book 8 in the Bakeshop Mystery series *Jules is desperately trying to keep the wedding that's throwing her mother a surprise. She's disguised it as part of her party at her new vineyard. Even Carlos and his son are coming to celebrate; she's nervous about meeting Romero for the first time.My Thoughts: I adore this series - for the small town charm, the characters, and the bakery. Each book makes me mouth water and I have the strongest urge to go into the kitchen and whip something up. I loved seeing Carlos again - he might have won me over. I liked meeting his son. Of course, the wedding was amazing and I loved how everything came together. I loved that the whole town was involved. I felt bad for Lance, he's been through the ringer lately. I can't wait to read the next installment of this series!
Her best friend Lance is back from his vacation, but he's not well rested. He's convinced that his brother is trying to murder his father and that he's being followed. He begs Jules to invite his brother and his entourage to the wedding so they can keep tabs on him.
When his father dies and a wedding guest collapses, things are looking poorly. Lance and Jules search for clues only to discover that the poisoned wine was given to the wrong person. The glass was meant for Jules.
Angie and Tate are getting married in just a few short days. While our running wedding errands, Mel and Angie stumble across a dead body. This time it's the wedding photographer. Later they discover the limo driver has also been murdered - and it's obvious the connection between the two is Angie and Tate. Is someone trying to keep their wedding from happening? No one is resting until this case is solved, giving Angie and Tate their day in the sun.My Thoughts: I really love this series. I enjoyed the wedding planning and watching Angie's family come together to support her. I always find the brothers entertaining. I really liked the famous author's book and how it was like a train wreck that you couldn't stop reading. Another tasty mystery from Jenn McKinlay.
Sophie attends a high tea event at a new shop - The Parlour. She's loving the tea and goodies. Gossip flows between friends and she learns about Robert, the owner of the new antique store in town. He's caught the eye of several ladies.My Thoughts: I adore this series for the small town charm, the amusing neighbors, the food, the romance, and the friendships. This installment of the series hits the spot. The interactions between the neighbors adds layers to the plot, woven perfectly with moments from the past. I love the personal side details between Sophie and Natasha. I'm not a huge fan of Natasha, but I love her as a character. I can't wait to read the next book!
When Sophie finds him near death, she becomes suspicious. As she calls for help, he chokes out one last word. Rosie.
What could he mean? Who is Rosie?
Before long, the neighborhood's getting jumpy with dark shadows and misunderstandings. Could there be a killer on the loose?
Final Thoughts: Great food and great friends make this series a winner - add this cozy to your list of books to read this summer.
Hayden knows everything about chocolate - that's why people request her services when something goes wrong. She just wrapped up a job for Lemaitre's Chocolates - all except for the report. She's attending their chocolate retreat as a favor.My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book; it made my mouth water the whole time I was reading it and now I want to go on a chocolate retreat (minus the murder of course.)
Even though she dreads it, Hayden knows that attending could be good for her career and at the very least, she's going to taste some wonderful chocolates. Nothing goes according to plan and when her friend dies the first night, she doesn't think it was an accident.
The potential killer must be one of the chocolate players. Hayden will have to walk a very fine line to see which one of them might be a killer.
Final Thoughts: A mouth-watering read.
