Review: The Vibrant Years

Three generations of women:

Bindu inherits money - but she doesn't want it. It's a reminder of the past, which she would like to keep buried. She puts the money to good use, buying a condo in a retirement community. But not everyone there is friendly.

Bindu's daughter-in-law Aly has been promised her own TV segment -eventually. She's tired of waiting, but she's certain this scoop with earn her position. But the network wants to give it to someone else.

Aly's daughter Cullie has a brilliant mind for coding. She created an app that made her a super star in the tech world. But years later the app is losing money and Cullie needs to come up with a way to save it. One way is to create another app - if only she had an idea.

These three women will laugh together, cry together, and share their secrets.

My Thoughts: This is a powerful read of three women who trust each other, who fight for what they want, and refuse to let others put them in a box. They support each other through all the ups and downs. I loved the fierce love between them and how they help each other. I love how Bindu and Aly try dating for Cullie's app project - the dates are terrible, but hilarious. This is an inspiring read - I love how the women refused to be intimated or dismissed. I love how they refused to put themselves in a box or dull their shine. I loved the characters.  The story did leave a few questions unanswered. As the first book in Mindy's Book Studio line, I can't wait to see what's next!

Cover Thoughts: I like it! It's bright and vibrant.

Bookstagram (10) The Emma Project

The Emma Project was an enjoyable read -a great re-telling of Emma in the modern day, and then end of a four-book series.

Here's a post I made about it:

Top Ten Tuesday: Comfort Reads

This week's topic is comfort reads. With America being a trash fire, my comfort reads these past few years have been romance books. Yes, they follow a formula (as do most books). Most importantly, they all have a happy ending.

Which of course is very comforting!

Here are some recently read and highly recommended romance novels:

YA:

Adult:

If you read these, I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Top Ten Tuesday: Romance

If you read this blog, you know I'm a HUGE romance fan. You can watch a video of my co-worker and I talking about romance books on our Book Recommendation video here.

Sometimes pictures share a better story, so here are the top ten adult romances I can't wait to read this year! Believe me, there are several more I'm excited to read....

Are you excited to read any of these too?

Top Ten Tuesday: Beach Reads

This summer, I'm actually going on a short vacation. If you're a Children's/Teen Librarian, taking vacations in the summer is really hard because that's the busiest time of year. But this year, things of course are still a little bit different. So here are some books I'm hoping to take on vacation and read by the pool/ocean.

Any of these on your TBR list?

Watch That, Read This (1)

A new blog post series here on the blog.

This one features Hallmark movies and romance books - both favorites of mine.

Some of the movies are older, but I really enjoyed them.

Have you seen any of these movies or read any of these books?

Top Ten Tuesday: Under the Tree

This week's topic is books we wish were under the tree.

I know that the pandemic has changed everything for the publishing world.
But I'm such a print girl (Librarian) and I would be thrilled to have any of these ARCs in no particular order.

Are you excited to read any of these too?
