Over the weekend, I finally watched The King's Speech. I've been waiting to see this for ages, not just because of all the buzz, but because I simply adore Colin Firth.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE.
I loved the humor, especially the bits between Colin Firth and Geoffrey Rush.
I Loved Lionel - he was funny, clever, witty, and not afraid of the King.
I loved the Princesses.
I loved the costumes.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie - laughing a number of times.
Book Pairing: Her Royal Spyness: a novel featuring Lady Victoria Georgiana Charlotte Eugenie, 34th in line for the throne - during the same time period. I love this series. GoodReads

Since I was so pleasantly surprised at how good “The King’s Speech” was I can only take your word for how good “Her Royal Spyness” would be. I was so impressed with “Speech” that I must say it is the best drama I have seen in my lifetime incorporating a love for the characters and humor in a way that makes the movie compelling. I saw it in HD on my DISH Network employee receiver and honestly I was very impressed with the directing and how realistic it looked for the period it was set in. DISH has many movies in HD to choose from too on dishonline.com (http://bit.ly/dJzWgo) as well.
