Top Ten Tuesday: Older Books still on my TBR

 This week's topic is older books on your TBR list. 

Confession: We did this topic in 2020 and sadly my answers haven't changed.

Because of my job, I gravitate towards books that just came into the library and rarely grab older books from the shelves. It's not that I don't want to read these books, it's just that I usually have so many new ones checked out (and I can't even read all of these) that I don't have time to search for older books.

I am a great and terrible library user. I have way too many books out all the time. And many books on hold.

Although, some of the books I have checked out are for work and many others are picture books, so they are a quick read....

Top Ten Tuesday: Oldest Books in my TBR Pile

This week's topic is oldest books in my TBR pile that I will want to read. I'll confess, it's been a while since I've edited my Goodreads list. And I have over 3000 books that I want to read (or I wanted to read at some point). Part of me wants to take the time to refresh the list, but part of me knows that it's going to take forever...

I'm not sure why I haven't read these yet because I love their other books...

I guess I'm a new and shiny book reader.

Top Ten Tuesday: Older Favorite YA Books

This week's topic is  Top Ten "Older" Books I Don't Want People To Forget (I'm going with a rewind this week because I didn't have ideas for the original topic). Plus as a librarian, I love recommended books - either newer or older titles. I just want the readers to be happy. I'm going to limit myself to the first 10 I see, but there are SO many more that I wish readers would notice.

Mini Review: The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks

Frankie's grown up, she's not he little girl they called Bunny Rabbit. But no one around her pays attention to her thoughts or ideas. She's about to make them all sit up and pay attention.

The Good:
I loved the pranks
I loved how she infiltrated the secret society
I loved how the pranks were bigger than just pranks - how Frankie wanted people to talk about gender equality.
Frankie's brains

The Bad: 
I felt the ending was a little rushed - but that could just be because I wanted to see more of Frankie's next year.
I didn't like Matthew - he was irritating especially when he put Frankie down all the time.

Overall Thoughts: I'm really late in reading this book - even though it's always caught my interest. I really really enjoyed it! If you haven't read it yet - get yourself to the library and read about pranks, gender equality, and finding your own identity.

Winter Dreams, Christmas Love - this sadly is hard to fin, but it was one of my favorite books as I teen. I bought my sister (who also loved it) and myself copies for Christmas last year.
Changing Tides - novel about the Gates family, based on the National Treasure movie (which I LOVE)
Sweep series - Adored this series - lots of romance, danger, action, and magic
Perfect Cover - Undercover spies as cheerleaders
Map of the Known World - a girl getting over the death of her brother through art and his best friend
Princess Diaries - the book that made me become a YA Librarian!
