Top Ten Tuesday: Books on a Deserted Island

This week's topic is books you'd want with you on a deserted island.

First I imagine the island looks a little something like this:

2nd, I don't really mind being on my own.

3rd - the first books I thought of were Sarah MacLean's books. If you haven't read them, I highly recommend them!

Maybe there would be no coconut drinks, but there would be lots of sand and water. And Sarah's books never fail to make me smile, laugh, and sigh with happiness.

Review: Day of the Duchess

* Book 3 in the Scandal and Scoundrel series *
Seraphina returns to London to obtain a divorce. She's spent the last three years in Boston without her husband. Now she's opening a tavern in London and needs to be free in order to properly own it. She's determined to become a free woman; she's liked answering to no one.

For the last three years the Duke of Haven has chased down every lead of his wife's whereabouts. But he has yet to find her. Until she walks into his life and demands a divorce. Luckily, he has the summer to woo her, under the pretense of needing her help to find him another wife.

They can't talk about their past without yelling at each other, but is it possible for them to move forward?
My Thoughts: I loved this book. I loved Seraphina and her strength. I'm sorry for all the heart ache she endured. I loved her independent streak and how she wasn't taking no for an answer. I loved her times with her sisters, they added humor to the story. I loved her cameo in book one and how this book changed my opinion of that scene (and of the Hero). This one is an emotional reader given the character's backstory. I'm happy how it all turned out, but it was heart wrenching to read. I can't wait for the next book and to read more about the American! Sarah MacLean writes another amazing story that I didn't want to put down.

Cover Thoughts: Love it! She's obviously in charge.

Library Recommendation: A must have for public library romance sections

Where I Read this Book: I saved this book to read while hiking in the Grand Canyon. And it was the perfect book to bring.

Adult Review: Rogue Not Taken

 * Book 1 in the Scandal and Scoundrel series *
Lady Sophie Talbot is different than she sisters; she isn't fond of the tabloid gossip detailing their every move. In fact, up until now, she's stayed out of the limelight. But when her sister's husband does something unforgivable, she must act.

Now she's embarrassed and wants to escape the party. She ends up fleeing the scene on the back of a carriage. Only the carriage isn't going where she expected. Now she's in a worse mess with no way out.

What will happen when she's discovered?
My Thoughts: I'm a huge fan of Sarah MacLean's and this book made me so so happy to read. It was hilarious. I loved the banter between Sophie and King. They got into serious scrapes, but they always managed a way out of the them. I loved the idea of owning a bookstore away from town. Oh, and that library scene reminded me of Beauty and the Beast. Of course I loved it. You can't help but love a bookish heroine. Strawberry tarts. Hedge Mazes. I really liked Sophie's sisters and can't wait to see what happens next with the Talbot family.

Cover Thoughts: Charming - I like the blue

Final Thought: You never want to miss a Sarah MacLean book, they're too good!
