Picture Book Wednesday: Nature Board Books

Some cute board books about nature:

There are tabs on top and on the side which correspond to the different pages. Each page has a topic. The pictures are brightly colored. I love how each page has tasks to complete. There's so much vocabulary in these books - They are great for early readers.

Say goodbye to Winter and hello to Spring

This is a cute seasonal board book with so many favorite spring activities in nature. The illustrations are cute and the friendship moments are adorable. Celebrate all the seasons with this series.

Learn all about Rocks and Minerals in this series.

This is one of my favorite series. These books have so much information, they are brightly illustrated, they ask questions, and they have diverse characters.

We are all different, but we all live on Earth.

This Earth shaped book shares our differences and similarities. It also shares how we can help the Earth by growing things, keep it clean, volunteer, and show it love. I love that message that we can all chip in a do our part. It's never to early to talk about climate control.

This sweet board book shows the life cycle of flowers.

Informative without being too wordy, this board book shows little ones how the flowers grow. Lots of animals are seen in the illustrations. There's a lot to talk about here.

Picture Book Wednesday: Snow Board Books

We got some new board books about SNOW in at the library - just in time for my winter story time.

This book is all about friends having fun outside in the snow.

This is charming - I love the illustrations. And it's part of a seasonal series. If you like this one, be on the lookout for the rest.

An alphabet book about snow and winter.

The illustrations are great and there is lot of vocabulary here. I even had to look up one of the words. A great book to share.

If you're looking for something more scientific - this is your book. But it also talks about playing in the snow.

A great mix of information and fun.

What do you like best about snow?

Picture Book Wednesday: New Board Books

New board books at the library:

Counting while we bake - and it includes a recipe. Lots of fun here.

Lots of explanations about animals and transportation in this farm read. Love the illustrations.

Very matter of fact about gender and equality! Excellent for library collections.

Lots of knowledge here about instruments. Love the idea of making music (and noise) all together. More fun illustrations.

Board Books (5): Transportation

We just bought a bunch of new board books for our library.

I'll be talking about a few favorites over the next couple months

This week is all about Transportation

Moms of all transportation vehicles help show their kids how the world works and give them the best tips for living their best life. Fantastic illustrations!

Mail Duck is delivering all the packages in the mail. Each animal getting a package likes a different shape. This is a sweet story with a great ending. The illustrations are fun.

* This is a really great book but might be hard for libraries with the lift the flaps.

These vehicles are making a house! I love the way they all connect. This book also has lift the flaps, but they are bigger and more sturdy.

One day on a construction site. I love how they take time for lunch! Another great book from this series.

Great pictures in this book that showcases so many vehicles. Lots of puns and funny moments too. Great photographs too,

Board Books (4)

We just bought a bunch of new board books for our library.

I'll be talking about a few favorites over the next couple weeks/months

This week is all about Nature: plants and animals

Another great informative board book from the Hello, World! Collection. I loved the ending when we all roared together like dinosaurs.

Snakes, Chameleon, lizards, crocodiles, and more!

All about Ocean life, animals, and more!

I'm not a fan of bugs, but I learned things from this book.

This one has much more information - lots of strange facts here

So much in this book - and the illustrations are nice too!

* these two series are really great for libraries!
