Picture Book Wednesday: May's Brave Day

May's set to start school, but there are butterflies in her tummy. How can see get them to stop fluttering? She needs to find her courage for the first day of school.

My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this book talking about mental health and feeling anxious. May had lots of ways of dealing with anxiety. I love how it all worked out. This is a wonderful book to talk about emotions, mental health, and anxiety.

Book Recommendation: This is a fantastic book for your school and public library collections!

Picture Book Wednesday: School Books (3)

A few more school picture books:

Dad jokes for the win! My favorite of course are the library/bookish ones.

A sweet story about a shy rabbit and his first day of preschool.

This is a charming story about a little bunny who becomes brave with notes from his mother. He has a lot of fun and meets some new friends.

Kate is late for school! Is it because she stops to say hello to everyone? Or could it be something else?

A fun look at the morning routine, a lovely community, and the bond between parent and child.

MJ is ready for kindergarten. When her mom gifts her a tiara, she explains how to be a queen. MJ spends the whole day performing her duties.

Adorable. I love the moments between the mother and MJ. MJ lives up to the tiara. I love how there are easter eggs of the author's previous books in this story.

Your octopus is invited to school, but they aren't that interested in going.

This is a funny book that will have readers pouring over the illustrations.

If you've always wanted to be a rock star, this is the book for you.

The illustrations are great - bright and colorful. This book is a lot of fun!

Picture Book Wednesday: School Books (1)

I'm sharing just a few school picture books:

A boy is starting school in a new place. He's not sure where to get the bus. Once the bus arrives, it looks a little bit different. School isn't what he thought it would be.

A funny story - I sure hope there's a sequel to this one. I can't wait to read this aloud.

A class plant might not be as exciting as a class pet - until the class names the plant Jerry. After that, Jerry becomes the class star.

A funny book about plants, learning, and people growing on you. I love the illustrations in this book.

A dog who works at the school finds a turtle, he tries to find the right owner of the turtle through a series of letters.

I loved this one - it's cute, funny, and there's so much to unpack. The illustrations are fantastic and it's a sweet story!

Giving some love to teachers, as they make a powerful impact on our lives.

Picture Book Review: Sounds like School Spirit

Another great book that I'm going to read for my Kindergarten Storytime later this week.

A call and response book all about school and the community inside. I loved the day to day moments. The illustrations contain bright colors and the book is filled with diverse characters. Definitely one to share!

Library Recommendation: Highly recommended for your school and public libraries!
