Picture Book Review: Fall Picture Books

Just a few picture books for fall:

This Little Golden Book celebrates the colors and traditions of fall.

I love this book - the illustrations are great. The color concepts are spot on. I love the way it rhymes and all the animals. It will make for a great read aloud for storytimes. It's just perfect.

An informative picture book without a lot of text and fantastic illustrations.

Fall is so much fun for these three friends as they navigate fall and Halloween. From leaves to costumes to favorite candies, this book showcases it all.

* this isn't a picture book, but an adorable easy chapter book with great pictures

I'm here for all the fall books and the cooler weather.

Picture Book Wednesday: Fall Books (2)

Happy Fall, here are some more picture books celebrating fall.

There are some new to me and some new to all.

Apples are wonderful - and farmer Annie does lots of baking and sends her apples to the market. What a great day filled with all things apples.

There's lots of things to talk about here - all about falls and apples.

Lawrence's class is bring their collection into share. Lawrence doesn't know what to bring in; he has nothing to share. Luckily his father has an idea - they can go into the woods and collect something. After a tricky moment, Lawrence ends up finding the perfect item to share.

What a lovely idea - both the show and tell and what Lawrence ends up using. Another great book with lots to talk about with vocabulary and fall items.

All the things a leaf could me.

This book has gorgeous illustrations and photographs of leaves. I love the way they are combined. I love this book about imagination and dreaming. I love the end pages with the leaves and their names. There's also an art project at the end of the book.

A board book about exploring Fall animals with Hedgehog.

The illustrations are gorgeous - which make readers want to pour of them. There's a lot of learning in this board book - learning about hibernations and which animals hibernate.

October is hosting a party and all the animals are invited.

The animals all gather up items at the end of the month for a party. It seems to be a thanksgiving type of story, but it's the wrong time of year. I love how this book depicts different animals and what they gather during the fall.

Picture Book Wednesday: Fall Books (1)

Happy Fall Y'all! Just a few books to celebrate the season.

A board book about seeds and plants - specifically pumpkins. The pictures are lovely and Nat Geo Kids does a great job explaining planting and making this book interactive.

A picture book about planting pumpkins for Halloween. It takes a long time to grow a pumpkin and it's hard to be patient.

All the things to Love about Fall complete with illustrations in fall colors. It covers both Halloween and Thanksgiving.  What's your favorite thing?

What did the Old Lady create this time? This is a favorite series in my library.

Animals at the zoo love pumpkins - do you?  Lots of vocabulary in this book and lots of animals to talk about.

As the days turn from warm to cool, the leaves begin to change colors. Four friends explore the forest and the leaves. The gorgeous illustrations makes this book one to pour over. There's also extra information at the back of the book about photosynthesis.

Do you have any fun fall plans?
