Picture Book Review: Goodbye Friend, Hello Friend

42359550. sx318

Hellos usually follow a goodbye. Sometimes it's something simple like saying goodbye to snow and hello to Spring. But sometimes it's more complicated - like saying goodbye to a friend.

With great illustrations, this book is sweet. It goes through the seasons to the year. Some moments are sad and some are happy. But the ending is hopeful.

Picture Book Wednesday: Brave Ballerina

39280481

A picture book biography of Janet Collins - the first Black principal dancer at the Metropolitan Opera House.

Janet Collins had dreams - big dreams. She worked hard to achieve them. I loved reading about her determination and her refusal to change herself because of the color of her skin. She didn't compromise her beliefs. I loved her strength. A fantastic story with wonderful illustrations that made me wish I could dance.

Library Recommendation: Grab this one for your school and public libraries.
