Picture Book Review: I am Strong

Todd Parr has a new book out - and it's fantastic. With the signature bold colors, these books really stand out. The message is lovely - it's all about feeling your feelings and being brave enough to move forward. As always, there was a note from Todd.

** A must have book for your school and public library collections.

Picture Book Review: Birthday Books

I've read a few birthday books lately and thought I'd share them:

Lots of babies come together to celebrate a first birthday.  Short in terms of words, but there's a lot going on in these pages, especially with emotions. The illustrations are sweet. As you can see from the cover, the babies are diverse.

It's Twig's first birthday and the family gathers together to see what item she will choose at her doljabi (a Korean tradition). A cute story about birthdays, sisters, tradition, and the future.

A fun book about all the ways to celebrate your birthday - complete with the colorful illustrations one expects from a Todd Parr book. And of course there's a birthday message from Todd.

Another fantastic Todd Parr book - all about kindness. I loved how he mentioned being kind to yourself is important! It's everything you'd expect from his book - great messages, fun illustrations, and bright colors.

Picture Book Review: Goodbye Book

A goldfish lost his companion fish and shares his grief.

Todd Parr does it again. He shares all about different kinds of grief - and how there's not just one way to grieve. It's sweet and touching and just a little bit sad. A great way to introduce death to kids.

Picture Book Review: Brother and Sister Books

What is means to have a sister - or a brother. Most of the time, it's great. Sometimes it's not.

I loved these books. They're fun to read side by side because you can see the similar page spreads and the different ones too. The message is great. As always, the colors and illustrations are vibrant and unique. There's a love letter at the end from Todd that is heartwarming.

I simply love his books; they're perfect for school and public libraries.

Picture Book Review: Love the World

33784363

What do you love about the world? Todd Parr shares a great message with this book.

There are so many ways to love the world: through your community with a food drive, through politics by taking a stand, through nature with kindness, and through school with art. The illustrations are of course amazing and diverse. This book is a fantastic celebration of love that's easy to share and talk about with little ones.

A must have picture book for school and public libraries.
