TBR Check-in: Summer

 

This week, we shared our Fall TBR list, so now it's time to check in on how we did for our summer list.

To be honest, not well.

Part of it is summer at the library is so busy that mostly I just crash when I get home from work.

The other part is that we were in the process of changing book vendors at the library, so I didn't put in a book order for several months and thus missed many new books. 

Which I will work on as they come in.

However, I did read these:

And I have a couple books checked out from the library that I hope to get to soon.

I can't find this one anywhere, no libraries have it. I might have to break down and purchase it:

The other three, I have no progress on. Overall, I feel pretty good about the list.

 This week's topic was Summer TBR list - which means, it's time to check how I did on my Spring Reading List.

I didn't do this right, because several of these books come out in June. So I haven't read that many.

Read and reviewed for Fresh Fiction

Read this cute graphic novel about friendship drama at a summer camp

Read this one - didn't love it like I'd hoped, but it was still good

Not the story I was expecting, but it was a great read. Review to come.

Several other books on the list are on hold for me, so I'm waiting for them to come in.

TBR Check-in: Winter

Since we just shared our Spring TBR, I'm taking a look at what I read from my Winter list.

I read 5 - which isn't great but not terrible either.

I have a couple of books checked out from the library that I'm hoping to read soon. And The Crash has a million holds at the library and I'm waiting for this one.

Fall TBR Check-in

This week we shared our Winter TBR list, so here's the check in...

So far, I've read 8 books. Which is pretty good for me. 

But I also have several books on the list checked out from the library.

Earlier this week, I shared my Summer TBR list, so it's time to check in what I've read from my list previously:

Given that my library is on a budget freeze, I haven't been reading as many new books lately.

But I have read 8 of these and I'm still looking forward to reading the rest. 

I added a few more on hold at the library.

Summer is the busiest time of the year for me with work. 

What I Read off My List:

I have four currently checked out from the library and a few more on hold. 

I did read several other books - but sometimes it's hard getting them first at the library over the summer.

TBR Check In

 This week I shared my Summer TBR list, so it's time for a check-in from my Spring List. 

Not great.

While I did read other books, out of this list, I read:

0 middle grade

2 graphic novels

1 YA 

3 adult 

I have 8 of these books currently checked out of the library

I have read 117 books this year so far...

I do like looking back at these lists. I think it's start to help me be more aware. Sometimes we don't get the books into the library during this time. Sometimes I have other books that are due soon (or overdue) that I need to read first. 

TBR Check In: Winter

 

I just shared my Spring TBR list - so it's time for a check-in from my winter list.

And I did ok but not great.

Part of the is the supply issue - ordering books for the library use to take a week. Now it takes a month or so for them to arrive. 

While I did read other books, out of this list, I read:

1 middle grade

0 YA (although I have three currently checked out from the library)

6 adult and 2 more are currently checked out.

I have read 45 books this year so far...

TBR Check In

 I just posted my winter TBR, so it's time to see how I did reading my fall books. 

Answer:

Not great.

I read 4 books. 

But I do have a few checked out and waiting to read on my shelf...

We did have a budget freeze at our library, so new books were not arriving. It did make it harder to gain access to the ones I wanted to read.

Hopefully I can read them soon! 

TBR Check-In

Since we just did our Fall TBR list, I thought I would check in and see how I'm doing reading my summer books.

And I have to admit, not very well. I have read 5 and have 5 out from the library currently. Hopefully I will get to them soon. 

My library has a budget freeze until the town passes a budget so we are not able to purchase new books. 

And this little one makes it hard to read as much as I used to, but he's so cute, I don't mind.

Winter TBR Check-in

 

Last week, we shared our Spring TBR list. 

Which means it's a good time to check in and see how many books I read from my winter list. 

My list wasn't as large as usual.

Out of the 18 books, I've read 5.

I have another 5 checked out from the library that I'll read soon. 

Still planning to read the rest.

So - not great, but not terrible either.
