Reading List: Figure Skating Books


I've been reading a few Figure Skating Books recently that reminded me of the Ice Princess Movie (which I Loved). And you can watch it these days on Disney+


It's basically the story of a girl who loves skating in the back yard and decides to try to take lessons. She realizes that she can use science to achieve her goals. Can she become a champion?

Middle Grade Books:
The Comeback by E.L. Shen
Maxine's dealing with lots of pressure -from her ice skating dreams, to school, to the racist bully at school. But she's not about to give up. My Review.

Breaking the Ice by Gail Nall
After receiving her scores, Kaitlyn's tantrum on the ice causes her to lose her coach, her ice skating club, and her dreams. But she's not about to give up - even if she has to join a very different club. Can she regain her standing?

Sugar and Ice by Kate Messner 
Claire's offered a scholarship to train at Lake Placid. But that world is very different and she's struggling to navigate the figure skating world. Can she handle all the pressure? My Review.

YA Books:

Every Reason We Shouldn't by Sara Fujimura
A washed up figure skater contemplates a comeback after spending time with a speed skater. who dreams of the Olympics. My Review.

Being Sloan Jacobs by Lauren Morrill
Sloane Emily Jacobs is a figure skating  needs a comeback and Sloane Devon Jacobs needs to calm down in her hockey playing. When they meet by chance, they decide to switch lives. Can they really solve their problems by running away?

Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler
Instead of pursuing her dreams, Hudson hides out at her mom's diner and bakes cupcakes - until someone new challenges her to get back out on the ice. My Review.

All Laced Up by Erin Fletcher. 
A hockey star and figure skater are forced to team up to team a skating class for kids.
