Picture Book Wednesday: Animal Books

Here are a few animal picture books and board books:

Picture Books
This book teaches kids how to dance like various animals - while it doesn't have much of a story, it would be a fun book to share. There's lot of animal facts and dance moves to try in this one.

Half of this book is one word one a page, the other half examines that word, making this book great for readers of various ages. Older readers can explore more with the deeper facts and younger reads can pour over the pictures. It's a win-win.

Elephants were in danger because they didn't have a home. One man agreed to help them, but they didn't want to stay with him. Eventually, they learned to trust him. Once the trust is there, the elephants are free to roam on the land.

This one is for older kids as it does talk about death and danger to and from the elephants. It did make me tear up at the end.

Board Books:

Bizzy Bear has some work to do at the zoo. He cleans up after the animals, washes the animals, drives the car, and feeds the animals. It's a busy day!

Very similar to the peacock book - this board book wants the reader to mimic different animals and their moves.

Cute animal photographs show off the opposite words. Each spread has a pair of opposites and then each page has a description of the animal using the word. A wonderful book to share and learn more vocabulary words.
