Drawing Books

 I wish I was a better artist. I paint landscapes mostly.

But I'm jealous of people who can create more than that. Clearly, I need to practice more.

Here are some beginner drawing books to share:

This book has over 100 drawing prompts. I like it because you don't have to think of what to draw. And for many of the pages, it gives you a framework. And the ideas are all over the place - food, nature, faces, hairstyles, cars, and so much more. Each prompt also features a Take It Further idea.

For Manga art style - this book is great. Two different artists share their art and ideas. The first part of the book gives artists the art and allows them to fill in the conversations and moods. The second part of the book gives the artists blank manga templates for them to draw and write their story.

Holly combines her love of fashion and art for her creations. This book delves into the history of fashion illustration, tools of the trade, drawing of the body and face, dressing the body, coloring the art, adding in a background, and putting everything together. Finally the last chapter of the book focuses on tutorials.

* Bought for the library

** One of my favorite artists
